DIY Bridesmaid Proposal Boxes

I am sooo excited to share this blog post with you! It has been brewing in my head for so long! Today I am sharing how I proposed to my bridesmaids! Being a bridesmaid requires a lot more than standing next to the bride and looking pretty. Bridesmaids attend and organize events like dress shopping, bridal shower, bachelorette party, rehearsal dinner, and being a huge emotional support for the bride during the planning process.

I asked 7 of my closest friends to hold this special honor. Since at the time I lived in Iowa and 6 of my girls lived in Wisconsin and another in Colorado, I had to mail their boxes. I made sure I was free on the day they would be delivered and asked each of them when they were available for a facetime “catch up” date. I wanted to be “there” as much as I could for when they received their boxes, even while being at least 3 hours away from them.

So what did each girl get?

First, I purchased this set of 10 boxes from amazon for under $15! This was perfect for by bridal party of 7 leaving me with a few extra for either mothers gift boxes or flower girl and ring bearer gifts. They are 8×8 so they fit perfectly in a small FedEx shipping box. I filled each box with crinkle cut paper (1 bag was enough for my 7 boxes).

Next step was personalization. I knew from the beginning that I didn’t want to give any of my girls stuff that said “bridesmaid”. (can we all say tacky??) Instead I opted for using their names. I found extremely affordable wine tumblers at Walmart and had their names custom printed on by my cousin who has her own crafting business called Mama Kay’s Designs.

Another item I included in their boxes were these gorgeous rose bath bombs.

From the liquor store I picked up two mini 4-packs of mini Sutter Home Pink Moscato wine bottled to match the pink theme. I, of course, saved one for myself of course!

The plush socks are also from amazon and came in a pack of 3 for $12. The last gift I included in the box were some hair ties

I also included hand written cards to each of them!

No matter what you include in your proposal, your girls will be sure to see the thought and effort you put into asking them! I can’t believe we are already down to 8 months before the wedding! I hope this post gave you some inspiration as to how you can ask your bridesmaids!
